CNC machining quotation calculation formula
Total quotation = material cost + processing fee + surface treatment fee + management fee + packaging and transportation fee + profit
Total quotation = material cost + processing fee + surface treatment fee + management fee + packaging and transportation fee + profit
Calculation method of each component

Material cost (Material Cost)
Material cost = material unit price × material consumption
Material cost = material unit price × material consumption
Material unit price: market price of different materials (such as aluminum, steel, plastic, etc.).
Material consumption: the required amount of material calculated according to the size and shape of the part.

Machining cost (Machining Cost)
Machining cost = single piece processing time × machine tool cost rate + tool consumables cost + auxiliary processing cost
Machining cost = single piece processing time × machine tool cost rate + tool consumables cost + auxiliary processing cost
Single piece processing time: processing time calculated based on the complexity of the part and the processing procedure.
Machine tool cost rate: machine tool usage fee calculated by hour, including depreciation, energy consumption and labor costs.
Tool consumables cost: tool wear and tear cost.

Auxiliary processing cost: machine adjustment, program writing and testing costs.

Surface treatment cost (Surface Treatment Cost)

Surface treatment cost = surface treatment unit price × part surface area

Surface treatment cost = surface treatment unit price × part surface area

Surface treatment unit price: the cost of different surface treatment processes (such as spraying, anodizing, etc.).

Part surface area: the surface area calculated based on the shape of the part.

Management cost (Management Cost)

Management cost = processing fee × management fee rate

Management cost = processing fee × management fee rate

Usually 5%~15% of the processing fee.

Packaging and transportation cost (Packaging & Transportation Cost)

Depending on the nature of the order, it is usually calculated based on a fixed fee per piece or total weight.

Profit
Profit = (material cost + processing fee + surface treatment fee + management fee) × profit margin
Profit = (material cost + processing fee + surface treatment fee + management fee) × profit margin
The profit margin is usually between 10% and 30%, determined according to market conditions and corporate strategies.

Example calculation

Assume that the quotation for a part is as follows:

Material cost: aluminum alloy, unit price 20 yuan/kg, material consumption 0.5kg.
Material cost = 20×0.5 = 10 yuan
Material cost = 20×0.5 = 10 yuan
Processing fee: single piece processing time 0.5 hours, machine tool cost rate 100 yuan/hour, tool loss 5 yuan.
Processing fee = 0.5×100+5=55 yuan
Processing fee = 0.5×100 + 5= 55 yuan
Surface treatment fee: choose ordinary polishing, unit price 10 yuan/piece.
Surface treatment fee = 10 yuan

Surface treatment fee = 10 yuan

Management fee: set at 10% of processing fee.

Management fee = 55×10% = 5.5 yuan

Management fee = 55×10% = 5.5 yuan

Packaging and transportation fee: 5 yuan/piece.

Profit: set at 15% of total cost.
Profit = (10 + 55 + 10 + 5.5) × 15% = 11.32 yuan
Profit = (10 + 55 + 10 + 5.5) × 15% = 11.32 yuan

Total quotation
Total quotation = 10 + 55 + 10 + 5.5 + 5 + 11.32 = 91.82 yuan
Total quotation = 10 + 55 + 10 + 5.5 + 5 + 11.32 = 91.82 yuan
Summary

The calculation of CNC machining quotation is a process that comprehensively considers multiple cost factors to ensure transparency and rationality. By reasonably calculating the costs of each component, it can help companies remain competitive in the market and provide customers with accurate quotations.
